It's okay to not be okay

Fear, uncertainty, disappointment, anger, frustration, and sadness are just some of the emotions that we have been experiencing lately.  These big emotions can be tough to express and sit with.  It can be natural for people to avoid these feelings as they make us uncomfortable.  This pushing away or hiding from our emotions leaves us feeling numb and unable to cope.  Though it may seem scary at first, the best thing you can do is label what your feeling and talk to a trusted person about what your experiencing.  Labeling your emotions helps us to problem solve and think of other ways we can cope.

Communicating in this was can be difficult at first.  I have put a template that will guide you through a simple way to discuss your feelings with others.  "I statements" are a great tool for both kids and parents to use to express themselves and to connect on a deeper level.
